Builders of custom wooden yachts of classic design Welcome to the website of The Leaky Boat Company, Prague. We are a small, family-run company specialising in the production of custom wooden yachts of timeless beauty. We build craft of up to 6m LOA (overall length) using modern wood-epoxy techniques. We are currently building a Safe Harbour 20 (pictured), a modern interpretation of the Dark Harbor 12½, a classic American racing sloop designed by B. B. Crowninshield in 1915. Her lines have been drawn for us by the well-known UK yacht designer Paul Fisher, who has married the elegant lines of the Dark Harbor 12½ to a modern underwater profile. She promises to be a yacht of exceptional beauty. Our Safe Harbour 20 is currently being strip-planked in our workshop near Prague. We are posting photos of the construction process on this website, where you can also see our work restoring a classic wooden Finn racing dinghy and a 1965 Sparkman & Stevens Sailmaster 22.
